At State Street, I joined Global Cybersecurity (GCS) during a restructuring period and was placed on a brand new team with little support. I was able to develop an automation with SQL to translate a data pipeline process that was manually done in Excel to a script that can be deployed onto a pipeline. Additionally, I helped automate a workflow for multiple clients with their IAM reports.
At the end of my co-op, the manager that I worked with told me sorry because of the situation I was placed in. I had little support & guidance (mentors, engineering help, etc.), unclear projects to work on, being placed in the mess of onboarding and building new teams and organization, and with subpar equipment (old Windows laptop w/ no ability to install basic things such as Git). However, the work that I was able to get accomplished (which surprised my manager) developed my ability to work with little resources and figure things out on my own.
